Anyone here ever see that TV show Viper? It's being replayed on Sci-Fi network now. What an AWFUL show. I swear the show must have been made by Dodge just to advertise the car. It's almost as bad as Automan

How I love/hate bad sci-fi television shows.

Mmm, me too.

Man, Sci-Fi(the genre) has gone down the tubes in the last 20 years. I mean, when is the last time a book like Dune has come out?(Brian Herbut and Kevin J Anderdumb dont count.)

I just remember Airwolf. And I've been watching the A-Team a lot lately for no real reason. Murdock is so crazy.

Can you be a geek if you're not into science fiction? Cos I'm not the latter, but I'm fairly certain I'm the former.

When Asimov died, it all went downhill from there. For all you Ray Bradbury fans, he has a new book out (how old is that guy anyway) called From The Dust Returned. It's not sci-fi, but it's supposed to be pretty good.

The A-Team kicks mucho asso. There was a time I wanted to model my life after Murdock. You know, joining the army, go AWOL, be chased after by a hard nosed Amry guy, and be totally crazy and wierd. Instead, I just ended up totally crazy and wierd.

Bad TV! Naughty TV!

I adored Automan when I was a child. Since I haven't seen it in almost twenty years, I have no idea what I would think of it these days. I was shocked to find recently that Star Blazer is fucking awful.

Ray Bradbury is one of my fav authors, ive read most of his books. Ever see the Televised Martian Chronicles? "And be thankful for the pure gift of being."

Just one thing, I thought he was dead too...

Anyone here remember the hit TV show Small Wonder? It's about a man who builds a robot daughter and has her pose as a real child. It always made me laugh unfortunetly they don't show it in reruns where I live.

She's a small wonder, pretty and bright with soft curls.

She's a small wonder, a girl unlike unlike other girls.

She's a miracle, and I grant you

She'll enchant you at her sight.

She's a small wonder, and she'll make your heart take flight.

She's fantastic, made of plastic.

Microchips here and there.

She's a small wonder, brings love and laughter everywhere.

Automan was an outstanding piece of Television.

I recall when he took corners in the car and his partner got squished against the windows of the car , or when he hit a golfball 515yds and got a hole in one on a par 5.

A memorable moment in TV history.

And of course , Cursor rocked!

Does anyone remember an early morning kids show in the 70's called the Patchwork Family? There was a big puppet named Rags who liked to eat jelly beans... and I remember the theme song by heart, but no one I talk to remembers the show.

My boyfriend had me convinced it was a figment of my imagination, until I found a site called Yesterdayland that allowed me to search for it. There were other people there who remembered it.

How about the drama that was once on the WB called "Savannah"? I was hopelessly addicted to that show. Now my I've matured to "Gilmore Girls". It's the only show I actually watch.

When Savannah showed in Iz, the advertising was hilarious in hindsight. It was pushed as this daring new hit drama series from the US, the next Melrose. Then it came to light that it had rated abysmally in the US and was axed after one season. Advertisers are funny people. "Hit show." = "Sponsors hit themselves for being stupid enough to waste money on it."

I know what that's like. Everything from TV shows to comic books that I like either end or go to hell when I become a fan.

And I really wanted Knight Rider 2010 to be a successful series, too...

As a fan of SF in Australia, without cable, life sucks.

Ever since ST:tNG, Trek and Babylon 5 have been screened at 11pm or so, with wildly unpredictable timeslots that are pre-empted by the latest egg-and-spoon championships live from Belgium. I missed seeing Babylon 5: Crusade during its very brief run on Oz TV because there were no ads, no fanfare of any kind, and it was shown at the arse-end of the night's television.

*sigh*

...and being a fan of They Might Be Giants and Peter Gabriel, I have long since given up on the idea of ever hearing my favourite songs on the radio.

Oh, if there are any PG fans reading by any chance, I highly recommend Afro Celt Sound System's Volume 3: Further in Time, featuring the kick-arse song When You]re Falling with guest vocals from Peter. I bought it a few months back without hearing either the song itself or anything at all from ACSS, and it was a great buy. Their music is sort of electronic + African rhythms + strong Celtic influences + guest vocalists... it's quite unique.
