Here's my WAY TOO MUCH entry

CC 196: It's time you stopped thinkin', and wastin' away... by codehappykid
7-08-03
The post-modern liberalist philosophy, when considered alongside the classical Dadaist movement, leads to a greater understanding of the human condition, as it were...
...yet, the shift from a pantheistic world view to a belief in a single Creator indicates the human desire to control his environment, as well as our quest to simplify the Universe...
...take, for example, my choice not to wear trousers. One might say that it was merely an act precipitated by my physical surroundings...
...however, the surreal nature of our very situation speaks volumes for the philosophy of ascetism and material rejection...
...so that before long, it becomes possible to see through to the heart of our fellow men...
...which would never have happened if you had packed enough food for the return voyage, you nitwit...

P.S. One Duck Point will be awarded to the first person who knows where the line I paraphrased in the last comic title came from.

eponine posted 7 of 8 correct.

They weren't in the correct order, but I'll forgive that.

"As You Like It," as Whimsy offered, is not present.

No one has correctly guessed Comic 1:Panel 1 yet. I suppose the "subplot winner" will be the first to identify that one.

However, they will have to share my respect and admiration with eponine since I've revealed that ep's other 7 answers are correct.

The breakdown:
Comic 1--
Panel 1-?????????????????? 2-Romeo and Juliet 3-Merchant of Venice (a bit of a stretch, but the water was key)

Comic 2--
Panel 1-Midsummer Night's Dream 2-Hamlet 3-Othello ("I'm sorry, the correct answer is 'Moops.'")

Comic 3--
Panels 1 & 2-King Lear 3-MacBeth (good ol' Kajun)

Richard III

I guessed all the others but Merchant of Venice (read it 20 years ago) and Midsummer Night's Dream (never read it, prefer tragedies). I really liked the King Lear panels.

Don't make a fuss, just come with us. Slappy, sloopy, gloppy, gloopy Happy-happy, hoopy-hoopy Dopey, doffy, screwy, blue-y Gooey, chewy, fooey, dewey Absolutely bus-a-looey
Crazy, lazy, crazy, crazy bus.

boinky's diary: the big test by boinky33
6-14-03
Dear diary: I had a big test yesterday and I was not perpared. So I got my cousin Louie to pretend to be me and take my test.
But I forgot to tell him that it was a math test, so he accidentally wrote a whole paragraph about world war 2. He discovered that half-way through, but didn't have an eraser so he wrote:
"Oops....nevermind!" But the teacher still gave me an F. I was so sad that I went home and ate a whole box of brownies. But not until I punched my cousin Louie in the throat.

boinky's diary: Who is Jesus? by boinky33
6-14-03
Dear diary: Today a man came to my door to tell me about Jesus. I didn't know who this "Jesus" character was. I asked the man if he was running for mayor or something.
He said no and then I said "Good, because I'm too young to vote." The man then told me all about Jesus and how he died for my sins. I said "Well, if he died for my sins, might as well make a few, eh?"
I laughed, the man didn't. He then yelled at me. My dad woke up from his druken slumber and beat the man with a boogie board. I said "I love you, daddy." Then he kicked me, took my money and left me.

Thanks. Lear wouldn't have been as good without the forum ladies and the littlegirl.

Yay. A nation breathes easier.
Teh key to Richard III was the horse, of course.
"A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!"
Also, the sunset background was a metaphor for the sun setting on Richard's reign. As for the owl, he looks somewhat dignified and royal to me.

Congrats to eponine and choadwarrior who will be added to my favorites list.

Here goes...

The elongated Shakespearean set of comic strips is "Twelfth Night".

Panel 1 of the final abridged set is "The Tempest", panel 2 is "Love's Labours Lost" and panel 3 is "Julius Caesar".

How did I do?
