The southern end of this beach is covered in an mysterious and evil mist. None who enter the mist ever come back out.
The only traces they leave behind is the echoes of their tormented screams which ring out over the waves.

This is based on an actual questgiver in WoW. He goes on about the evils of the mist and how no one ever returns, and his first quest is called "Into the Mist". This is a good summary of my reaction.
