today's been a pretty good day so far. warm and rainy. slept, finally, in my new room which was my old room that i've moved back into.
i collected $390 in rent and back rent from one of my tenants, 2 of 3 have paid so far this month. i wrote a blog post about a colorado case that got picked up by the main election law blog.
i got into the study that i screened for monday, so i will spend 8 days in missouri later on, making a month's pay in a week, unless i get sent home which could always happen.
while i was there i got $50 for finding out if i have low testosterone, which 1 out of 4 people they screen for has. if yes, there are some studies i can do, but mainly it could help explain some of
my sexual preferences (i like androgynous people) and also my general lack of get up and go. which is what i should do next; i need to go pick up my car and hit the po box and bank before they close.
i ended up not getting out of bed, except to make some lentil stew, take out the trash,and talk to my neighbor rochester.

i come from old money. my siblings went to ivys. i went to state schools, was estranged from my family, had emotional problems and mild mental illness, eventually got thru law school but then went back to being poor. i was a national merit scholar but didnt get the 50K scholarship because daddy was rich. a trust fund set up in the 50s left me $1000 a year spending money for college, it didnt go far in the 70s but was all i needed that first year when dad was paying tuition dorms and meal plan. lived on about $3k a year off campus after that. so i cant answer the question, because i didnt go to ivies. i dropped out a few times, worked shit jobs while my gf went to cu-boulder. i got by dumpster diving the apartments of the rich students. got a degree thru the mail for $1000 while working as the world's lowest paid teamster. law degrees from mizzou and umkc. had a scholarship one year, worked up to 5 jobs at a time while in school. never got a job as a lawyer. was briefly rich after my father died, lost it all during a period of depression/nervous breakdown. since then i've been a bum. i own a shack and a volvo, support myself doing medical experiments, write the occasional amicus brief to keep my hand in, try to keep my stress levels down so i don't get sick again. reddit way too much.

it was sleeting when i got out and walked to the dollar store. spent $55 on stuff like mousetraps, hygiene items, flea collar, dishpan, trash bags, rice, tang. in the morning i will make another shot at catching the bus to go pick up my car, oil change, bank, po box, errands, bills to pay, bills to mail, car repairs to arrange, breif to print and mail.
