On April 24, 1997, Bruce Bartsch held a press conference. In it, he spoke about the problems that cut his sporting career short.
Today, it was revealed to me that I have become too big to compete competitively in hot air balloon racing.
My doctors are saying that there is no way with as much as weight as I've gained that the balloon can lift and manuever the way it needs to. So I'm forced to walk away from the sport I love.
Just do it, Fatty. Nike.
But I'll be back. I'm going to lose this weight and I'll come back and win every air balloon racing event for 6 years straight. And when I do, I hope the French won't hate me too much.
