I'll start (in no particular order):

Final Fantasy 7 (PSX), ToeJam & Earl (Genesis), Gran Turismo 2 (PSX), Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (PSX), Super Mario 64 (N64), Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES), Super Mario Brothers 3 (NES)... uhh... Metal Gear Solid (PSX), Tetris (Game Boy), Nights Into Dreams (Saturn), Smuggler's Run (PS2--great multiplayer).

that's all for now.

Oh, and Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis--the first one).

Well, I have never owned a console in my life, however...

Coin-ops: Space Harrier, Black Dragon, Double Dragon, Snow Bros. (That last one is shameful but true.)

Amiga: Xenon 2, Speedball 2, Infestation, Flood, Dungeon Master, Black Crypt, Populous, Eye of the Beholder.

PC: System Shock (1 & 2), Thief (1 & 2), Magic Carpet 2, Half-Life, Galapagos, Duke Nukem 3D, Unreal (and Unreal Tournament), Star Control 2, Lost Vikings, Ultima Underworld, Eye of the Beholder 2, and... that's all I can think of right now.

Currently playing: Final level of Thief II: The Metal Age, UT single-player (again), and trying to find something enjoyable in Baldur's Gate after hours of painful gameplay... why was it so successful?

I like a lot of games. I can't even try to list all the games I like here.

I'll say this: Squaresoft and Blizzard are two excellent game designers, and I have yet to encounter a game made by either that I didn't like.

Unrelated to that, I highly recommend that, if you've never had the experience, you find and play River City Ransom (NES) and Legend of the Mystical Ninja (SNES). These are two of the most underrated games ever. Both are Double Dragon-style (towards the end of RCR you even have to beat up the Dragon Twins), but both are (IMHO, of course) much better than any DD game ever was.

I am of course entirely ignoring puzzle games like Tetris. Too many of those to list, too.

I agree about FF7, but I enjoyed Final Fantasy since the first one on NES. Back when those were considered good graphics. Another NES gem is Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Oh, and Lunar Pool (not an RPG, but still fun). Currently, I am playing FF9 (PSX) and Legend of Mana (PSX). And I love Frogger!

I'm not much of a fan of most PC games, but I love the Baldur's Gate series. I just really enjoyed tabletop RPGs when I was a younger and BG was the closest thing I've found to them, mainly since they were based on AD&D rules.

To each his own...

Eh, me too. Nicest computer RPG I ever played might have been Ultima III. That was back before the series started taking on a manipulative, boy-scout bent.

For fighters, I really loved Soul Caliber on the Dreamcast. I admit to being a bit of a button-masher, though.

I've been gaming since 1982 and I've learned that a lot of those old classic games were really crap. But anyway...

River City Ransom
Street Fighter 2/Alpha
Team Buddies
Suikoden
Final Fantasy 8
Tekken
Destruction Derby
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Capcom vs SNK
Samurai Shodown 2

I cycle through favorites pretty fast, and forget old ones all the time.

And the most fun video-gamish thing I've ever played was Battletech at Virtual World.

OH! Video! No console. I'll say Half Life but I've been into the expansion pack for Diable II lately.

The first computer video game I ever played was King's Quest 3. It was the greatest thing I had ever experienced.

Ultima 7 was pretty much the only RPG I enjoyed until my horrible Ultima Online addiction a year or two ago.

Has anyone in here ever played Rocky for the old Sega Master System. Thats one of my all time favorites. I recently got an emulator that lets me play all the old Master System games on my Dreamcast.

I never said I was good at it, just that I like it. If anyone does play against me, I'd have to make up for my crushing losses by challenging them at Team Buddies... or maybe the one online game I've ever been addicted to, teslatron.com.

Uh, ok. "Ladybug" and "Bump-n-Jump" on the Coleco Intellivision, "Caveman Ugh-lympics" on the Commodore 64, "Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender" on my old PC (I can't remember if it was a 286 or 386), and far too many to list since then.

I went to E3 in uh - it was either 98 or 99, whichever was in Atlanta - and played a bunch of games before they were released. Lemme tell you, *that* is a kick. I also played You Don't Know Jack at the Bezerk booth at E3, which was made up to look like a ratty Frat room with a smelly couch and a keg and a TV. The keg was real and we got free beer while we played.

I dig all these games, particularly those in all caps:

Atari: E.t., HAUNTED HOUSE, Dodge 'Em, Pitfall, Indiana Jones, Superman, SEAQUEST. o/` Memories, like the corner of my mind... o/`

Nintendo/SNES: SUPER MARIOS, Super Marios 2, Metroid, SUPER METROID, LEGEND OF ZELDA, A link to the past, COMMANDO, Rampage, Elevetor Action, Ikari Warriors.

Playstation: FINAL FANTASY 7, Mortal Kombat 4

Computer: Dark Forces, ALL TOMB RAIDERS, Doom, Hexen, Quake 1, QUAKE 2, BZFLAG

Freeware: DXBALL, GLTRON, BZFLAG

If anyone's looking for some cool freeware games, check out GlTron (modeled after the movie, available at TechTV.com) and DXBall (Pong type game that rocks and allows you to even build your own levels).

BZFlag is an open source multi-player tank game modeled after an old Arcade game called BattleZone. I used to play it religiously, but it's become so lagged recently, I'd only recommend it to someone with cable or higher.
