In 2008, I visited NYC for the first time.  While I was there, I saw a concert at a club.  When I walked in, Michael Cera was standing there and he checked out my shirt (Honestly...I used to get a lot fo compliments on that shirt).

Three days ago, I was in NYC for the second time.  After my business trip was over, I booked a hotel room across the street from a concert venue in Brooklyn to see Deltron 3030.  Before the show began, I walked outside to check out the neighborhood, and just as I walked across the street, Michael Cera passed me.

I will have to go back to NYC in a few months on business and I'm afraid I will be too distracted looking for Michael Cera.

Sounds like a recurring nightmare from which one might wake up screaming.

In a further attempt to increase immersion so I can learn the language faster, I have changed my browser language to Spanish.

So far the only noticeable difference is I'm happier, as I don't understand enough to get angry about things now.

What's the manuscript?  You don't have to spill details, but I'm curious what sort of book you've written.

Nice one HC! I wrote a steampunk adventure novel last year (still editing), so I can appreciate the amount of work involved in 60k words. And yeah, spill some deets ;)

Also, that is a really sexy car. I love the model s, they're still pricey, but paving the way for stylish electric cars :)

I wrote a fantasy novel based on a world I built for the D&D games I've been running for the past ten years.  Figured if I've got that much lore and legendry built up I might as well use it.  I'm also trying to put together a campaign guide for the same world to sell to other gaming types.

The novel is intended to be the first of a trilogy, and the trilogy the first books in a series exploring that world.

Sounds cool. So is it a fully original world, or does it hang off the existing D&D lore? And what sort of world, traditional high fantasy or do you have some sort of hook?

Original world.  There are traditional fantasy elements (elves, dwarves, goblins, magics, etc.).

I wouldn't exactly call it high fantasy, but it's not Hyborian Age Conan  by far.  The world suffered a worldwide cataclysm a few thousand years before the present when the four Old Gods that created it vanished; no one knows if they died, dispersed, or just left this world for another.  The lesser deities managed to hold things together enough to keep the world from being totally destroyed, but it's taken this long for the world to regain a medieval-cum-renaissance level of development on average and most of the lore of the past is either in incomplete documents leftover from before the cataclysm or locked away in old ruins where the old defenses are still active.

The initial trilogy focuses on an artifact from ancient times that was separated into its modular components and the dangers of even those pieces present to a world that doesn't understand the artifact's capabilities and use.

I've sent off query letters to a number of agents; I'll leave specifics out until I hear back from them (gotta know whether or not I'm self-publishing, you know?).

Yep, I understand wanting to keep things close to your chest, I'm in the same boat - I'm always worried someone will steal my ideas. Ironically, that's (unintentionally) happened here a bit, my story runs along a very similar theme in some ways ;)

I'd love to see a sample chapter or an excerpt though if you're willing, it's kinda hard to gauge someone's style from 3 panels. I'm at toomuchcoffeeguy@hotmail.com if you're willing to share or cool if not :)

I just found my kitty :)

I moved away for work 2 1/2 years ago, and I had to give him up for adoption. It was through the cats home, so I never knew where he went.

I moved back a few months ago, and this evening I was out walking and he came up to me on the street. Now he lives just around the corner.

It made me smile :)
