SC.com characters tend to work better facing a bit to the side, like a three-quarter view. This lets them talk to each other, but also "break the fourth wall" and deliver monologues. Dialogue looks a bit weird when a character is facing directly out of screen, and monologues look a bit weird coming from a character in sharp profile.

Just my humble opinion, of course.

Yeah, I did those! Long time ago... got Gabe's "Bench" images, did the transparency and whatnot, and threw in some extra "eye poses" to increase his flexibility a bit. Anyway, when I'm done with the Idle Thoughts gang I'll have a crack at a Jes of my own, see how that goes. It will be my first try at a caricature all in digital on my tablet (my scanner is currently out of action) so it will probably take a while.
