I got an e-mail from Arnold Schwarzenegger today. He regularly leaves me messages at home to remind me to vote for Republicans.

Thank you for sending me your email opposing SB 815. Hearing from my fellow Californians is very important to me as I work to improve our great state.
After extensive consideration and thorough deliberation from proponents and opponents of this issue, I have decided to veto this bill. I simply cannot support a measure that would harm small businesses by reversing many of the gains now powering California's economy.
California's workers' compensation system was in crisis prior to my taking office, with skyrocketing costs poisoning our economy. Through hard work and the reforms enacted in 2004, we have dramatically lowered costs, improved efficiencies and reduced litigation that burdened our businesses. These efforts have saved businesses billions of dollars and led to more than 600,000 new jobs since I took office.
I will continue to defend the workers' compensation reforms to ensure the strength of California's businesses, and I pledge to veto other bills as they cross my desk that will damage our state's economy. Thank you again for writing to me. Your active participation in the democratic process will help ensure a brighter future for California.
Sincerely,
Arnold Schwarzenegger
