It has nothing to do with people being new, per se, but it has everything to do with new people. They bring in their own styles, and there'll be friction between them and people of differing styles.

I suppose there IS a third solution to the problem now that we've clarified that: increase conformity.

i never thought i'd say this, but for the love of god be more like boinky. he responds a lot with nothing to say but they are usually only a few words. you don't have to read through a lot of garbage to realize he is saying nothing.

The nomads would move when the smell of shit got too thick at their campground. That's not a suggestion, it's just a fact. You could start another site with the exact same concept and eventually someone might find out about it who you don't like and then you'd have to move again.

I stumbled on to this place when a friend recommended it. It seemed like a cool idea and I think it's fun to create something, make someone possibly laugh, and waste time at work. This message board, like almost every other board I've ever been to, seems a bit sidetracked by 'the new group that's started showing up'. I've been on both sides so I understand where it's coming from: You find a good bar to hangout at/ drink and you like the regulars, then dumbasses start coming and screw things up, then eventually they leave, and this is nature's way. People come and go and some stay, get into the spirit of things and maybe make friends. Others burn off.

Shit comes and goes but the colon remains a constant.

My esteemed colleague found this site to be too elitist, personally I see it in some people but I find others who welcome the newbies, deepening the gene pool so that less pink-eyed babies with little monkye tails are born. And God-forbid that you should breast feed them! Those little fuckers have fangs! Better just to bash their skulls in before the doctor even spanks their asses.
I got a tad side-tracked but the point is that newbies keep a site from going stagnant so don't chase them off. And every new person who toddles along is a possible donation to Brad, and Brad deserves money! Don't confine him to eating pasta! Let him have real meat, not just the used stuff from that guy with the trench-coat.

Keep abuse to the twats who write in 1337 or in ALL CAPS and only rarely get the spelling of words right. Don't abuse newbies in general, they're a flourishing race.

Scratch and sniff porn isn't as good as I'd hoped

It's actually pretty frustrating being new here. I get the sense that all the regulars are good friends, and that they all are annoyed at the likes of us coming in here and making jokes that have already been made. I say this:

Regulars. Get to know some of us newbies. I've read a lot of the comics of all you guys, and you all wrote like a lot of us back toward your beginnings too. I think some of us are pretty funny. Have you read the Governor's stuff? He's awesome. Or how about Trippingbillee? That guy is incredibly attractive AND funny.

Newbies (myself included). Chill the fuck out. If you are actually funny, the regs will eventually let you in. If that doesn't happen, we will eventually become the new regulars (that sounds awkward). Don't force your comics on anyone. Post in the RMDC forum asking for constructive criticism, not trying to get people to say "Wow, you are funny."

Personally, I've been dissapointed. Some of the regs have been really nice to me and helped me out with making my jokes better. Specifically Evil_D, file13 (on my first few days), and Kajun, even though it was just a few quick chats in #stripcreator. However, most of you guys just want all of us to die if we don't have any comics before 02.

Ah yes, and also... Punky? You have one hundred and change comics? Let's see some more before you wear that regular crown. :)

In any case, this place is still really fun, regardless of the stupid moron asshole fuckface shiteaters.

Actually, I think that's what k_v_k was angry about all along, that some of us seemed to be bashing newbies and newbies will think that all the regulars are like that. I don't think he should be beating around the bush though. I only understood after punkrockskaboy posted what he did and I was like, "Um, I don't know this guy..."

Newbies are cool; I mean, when Artemis came in the way he did, I thought he was a regular all along. Others, like Buffy and jes (and you other guys, of course :-) ), are cool, and I'd like to see them stay. It's the NOOBS like slimanjuro and half those weirdos in the RMDC forum that I can't stand.
