I just had a nice surprise. When we made the offer on our house, we had gotten a quote for the closing costs in advance, then tacked it onto the sale price. So we paid more, but got it refunded upon closing to cover those costs, rather than having to take it out of pocket. This way it gets tacked onto the mortgage.

I got home the other day and saw a note from my wife with '$3707 Western Title' scribble on it and freaked out. I couldn't figure how they'd been off by so much in estimating the closing costs. I had no idea where to get almost $4K except for killing wirthling and hocking his car.

Then I talked to her and found out that that was a refund we were getting. Whew. I still don't know how they were that far off, but as long as it's in my favor it's ok.

Now I can pay to have wirthling killed.

Fuckity fuck fuck. I got another damn virus. Only I don't know what this one is yet.

I just made this lovely little animated gif dissing wirthling, and I was about to FTP it to my site, and CuteFTP tells me something about it not feeling well, and that I should run a virus scan and reinstall it.

So I go to run my virus scan. Only the program refuses to open. I try again.

Finally, I check the task manager to see if it's really not open, and I end up peeking into the open processes window, and lo and behold, there's some nasty little thing in there that's eating up ALL of my system resources. Little beeeatch.

So I restarted in safe mode and I'm currently reading on symantec's site reading up on current viruses. This one is apparently called 'klez'. Blech.

I suppose I should go try to kill it instead of posting here.
