That article just shows why they shouldn't let emotionally unstable people like Spankling in the armed services. And it just says the suicide rate is up from last year, it doesn't compare it to the figures for people in that demographic in civilian life.

War is hard on people, I'm not arguing that. That isn't an excuse to not try to keep the peace in Iraq though, unless you are against all war in any form.

Do you care about high suicide rates in executives? Should we "bring all of them home for their own sake"? Air traffic controllers? Everyone living in Seattle?

And oh yes I really trust a newspaper that picks this picture of George Bush for his bio to be objective:

I still say gas prices are a bad thing for either candidate to campaign on. You'd think people would remember that gas prices go up in the summer and it's "unseasonably cold" every winter. Maybe there's high turn over in the media and they think this is breaking news every year.

As a side note, Cheney taxing gasoline would decrease the demand..doesn't that have a big conflict with your "Bush-Cheney = oil interests" yammerings?
