I know this is my dorky St. Louis country station, but if any of you can find it in your heart, I'd like to ask you to adopt a soldier. Simply sending a gift (like magazines, video games, or candy even) along with some basic tolietries would be much appriciated by these men and women and their families. So far, I've adopted 4 soldiers in total; One at home, one for my office, one in my social group, and one in an organization I belong to. Here's the link if anyone would like to give it a try:

My high school did something like this every year around Christmas time, only it was families around Saskatoon that we helped out. Each homeroom could either get a family to give foodies and goodies to, or they could take it to the local foodbank type thing. The first year we did it, we filled the entire living room of the family's house. The kids were so happy because they finally had toys that were semi-cool, and the parents were just happy that they had food in the house. Gave me that warm tingly feeling.

I contribute to my brother doing the same thing now. I think that's doing my share.

Actually, my mom has been doing this for years, and (all kidding aside) my family now has a marine. He's a short Indian kid, but a cool guy and I hang out with him often. He's pretty much my adopted brother.
