I'm having a lot of trouble getting an avatar that I made onto stripcreator. I can only make it an animated gif, I've uploaded the animated gif and tried to replace the link but, for the love of god and all that matters, it just won't work. Has anyone got any knowledge of how to make an animated gif useable for stripcreator. I've been told it's best to have them in jpg or bmp format or something... But the point is I can't make the animation I've made into a stripcreator friendly format.

Any help would be most appreciated...

animated gifs need to be in the gif format (clue is in the title!). I don't believe SC does anything special with them, just displays them. They do need to be less than 60x60 pixels however (we've had similar problems like that in the past), if you meet both those criteria, try dragging the file directly into a browser window and see if it works (as an animation) that way you'll know if its the file or something else.

If you have potatoshop, you can use imageready to create animated gifs (well cs2 or earlier, think they integrated it in cs3, either way you can do it) but Im sure theres bound to be some decent 'free' animated gif making tools.

Thinking about it, I do believe the gimp can do it, and if you don't have a gimp there is some free software available online by the same name that may be able to help also.

Yeah, the gimp can make animated gifs easily! best of all it's freeeee so beeko, try loading it in the gimp and if you are stil not sure just do what the governor said and just drag the file into firefox and if it doesnt spin or whatever then you have problem.

Thanks, I had mine on 80 x 80, no wonder it wouldn't work.

Ok, now I'm screwed, I resized it and it's still invaild. I resized the image to exactly 60 x 60 pixels, and uploaded it this arvy and it is still coming up invalid. I dragged it onto the web browser and the image works fine. I wonder if by less than 60 x 60 pixels you really meant that it has to be exactly below 60 x 60 pixels. I'll have another shot at it during lunch time at school, they have adobe fireworks and it's extension is .gif. Using the school program to open my animation I can then save it as an animated gif and open it up in adobe fireworks to edit the pixels.

Try 59*59, I've had problems with avatars like that before.

The other possibility is that you're linking the images incorrectly, the ones in your first post aren't showing up for me, and when I follow the direct url it takes me to a login page on photobucket for your album. Maybe check for a direct URL?

That being said I had the same problem when you linked your shakespeare pic, and that worked when I entered the URL directly to my browser...
