Talking to a few people on BM it seems most of you are interested, the ones I've heard anyway.
The only thing that some people are doubting about, me included, is the way BM are chosen for the matches.
Currently there are three ideas floating around.
1) The example used on the website. Everyone chooses three ButtonMen at the start of the season. For every game he plays he can choose one of those 3 BM.
Problem here is that everyone could be going Lascivia, Werner, Bennett and other big BM
2) The BM are simply chosen at random before every match, by challenging your opponenent to a Random TL BM from all BM.
I'd like to use a system where the Home player has some form of advantage, perhaps he could, if he wanted, narrow down the Random BM to a certain set of his liking (for both players the same set though).
3) A variation of the first system.
We could, like evil_d suggested in the Multiplayer Games topic, give each BM points according to how good they are. That way we could put a limit to the number of points your three BM can amount to. So if you picked Lascivia you'd have to pick two weaker BM to keep you points below that barrier.
Unfortunatelly this wouldn't stop someone from simply playing with Lascivia all the time and never use the two weaker BM.
That's why I'd suggest the following rule.
Over a span of three games, you must use every BM you've chosen at least once.
Example: I choose Lascivia, Cthulhu and Mr. Peach as my Buttonmen
The first game is against Kaufman, the second against LadyJ and the third against ep.
For the first match I choose Lascivia.
For the second match I may no longer choose Lascivia, my choice is limited to Cthulhu and Mr. Peach. I choose Mr.Peach
For the third match I have to choose Cthulhu as he's the only one left.
for the 4th match I can choose from all BM again, the 5th just the two I didn't pick in the 4th match and for the 6th match just the one that's left.
And so forth.
As for Home advantage I'd let the Away player choose his BM first so the home player can adjust his choice accordingly. Only downside is that the home player of the third game in the three game span wouldn't have that advantage.
Giving all BM a ranking shouldn't be too hard since the BM site has a ranking. We could use the win/loss percentages for points.
Personally I like the third system best because it adds some strategy to which BM you pick when.
If anyone has other ideas about this, please post them here or let me know which of these 3 you prefer.
