I have no idea what would be played at my funeral, but Mom has expressed to me that she wants "Dead and Bloated" by Stone Temple Pilots played at hers. We discussed this years ago when the song first came out.

Back in '94, they played "Tears in Heaven" at my cousin's funeral. It was a big song at the time, and after that, I couldn't turn the radio dial fast enough whenever that song came on.

Every time I hear "Wind Beneath My Wings" (usually on some cheesy retrospective on TV), I can still hear my best friend's mom wailing at his dad's funeral.

Playing a significant song at your funeral will kill the song forever for anyone who attends.

In that case I should play something by Rascal Flatts at my funeral. I'm sick of hearing my sister play it.

I've been working on an excell spreadhsheet on this one for maybe 10 years now... ever since I had a close call. It may seem like a pathetic list to some, but it hits moments in my life and would help me touch people I've known. I hope to have the list trimmed and the CD cut in advance, but if I don't my will contains directions to the file I may still be modifying.

My funeral's going to be a loud, obnoxious party. The kind cops get called for. So there will be plenty of loud, obnoxious music.
