I'm saying the quality of education doesn't have that much to deal with taxes or even funding. It has a lot to do with competence and political will.

And especially it doesn't have anything to do with the Iraq war, like syschoma suggests.

Then I won't vote for someone who stood on the Senate floor and campaigned for the war, and who also voted for it, but then voted not to fund its completion.

O.K., I've been following this thread for a while now, and it seems to me that you people are forgetting the fact that the key property that makes a chaotic system so unpredictable is divergence -- if two copies of the system differ by delta, that delta will grow exponentially in time (doubling according to a coefficient call the Lyapunov coefficient). Yet, the divergence is never arbitrary. Instead, the divergence happens within a space called the strange attractor - the diverging trajectories stay within in the attractor zone even as the split from each other. If you map the strange attractor and nudge the system at the right point of the cycle, you can push the system into what ever mode of behavior you want. Although you cannot predict the longterm behavior, you can perturb it periodicaly to stabiize it or rapidly shift its behavior. The key to controlling such a system is to understand how it diverges (the shape of the strange attractor) and use that knowledge to deftly inject perturbations at just the right moment.

The problem is that NATO is not keeping up its end of the deal to supply troops. Why are you blaming Bush for that? NATO isn't sending any troops to Iraq, so it's not draining their forces. The rest of your post doesn't make sense; should I assume alcohol is once again involved?

This is why I no longer really respond to MaKK, other than perhaps to back up someone else's statement.

It occurred to me that MaKK was just trolling when his comments seemed to make less and less sense and when backed into a logic corner he lashed out with lies so egregious that you felt your only choice was to discredit them. He's just looking for fodder, nothing more.

He can goad you all he wants, but giving in to him just isn't all that fun.

What welfare benefits are reduce because of the Iraq war? If not that, I asked if you meant if public education is being under funded, and if so, at what level are they funded? How do you measure success in any program where money is given to the poor? (Money is not taken from the poor).
