My favorite place in San Diego is Woodstocks by SDSU. They have whole wheat crust and their sauce is awesome.

Now I just go for the pizza, but when I was in college, I'd go for the late night happy hour--$2.75 pitchers from 9 pm - Midnight. Of course, that was after going to a 4-6 happy hour and a 5-8 happy hour down the street. This is a true story:

Best hotdog place in the world is Papaya King hands down. Located in NYC (where all great bum food is), their special is the recession special which is two dogs (any toppings) and a small Papaya drink for like two bucks. Open 24/7. It's a small dinghy place with no seating and known of the hotdog makers can speak more than ten words of English, but they know how to turn rejected pig parts into a mouth-watering cuisine.

West Main Pizza in Portsmouth, RI. Voted the best in RI many, many times. Unbelievable pizza.

As for hot dogs, you fools have nothing compared to Spike's. Located in Providence down by the club district and on Thayer St. Check it out if you are ever around.

I prefer soydogs. They taste the same as pork hotdogs.

I don't like pork and the beef dogs scare me. When I eat beef, I want it in a rare-as-legally-allowed (and sometimes raw) hunk of flesh, not in a pinkish, phallic tube.

and it IS just pizza, not a life-changing experience.

Now proper Indian food IS an experience. I happily drive over an hour just to gets me some saag paneer.

And don't get me started on Ethiopian food. Heaven on a plate!

Soy dogs taste like chemical waste. If I ever go vegi I promise to only eat things that look like vegis.

The best Pizza is Vito's down on 3rd Street. The smell alone will wrack your frame with wave after wave of ecstatic bliss. If you're foolish enough to actually taste it, you'll probably be forced to grab a knife and sever your own jugular; knowing that everything else you'll ever experience will seem like dog shit in comparison. If you do somehow survive the compulsion to destroy yourself immediately, you're just doomed to wander the rest of your days hollow-eyed and empty; unable to find succor in any of life's lesser pleasures.

Now that's a pizza.

There's a Papayaking opening on my block next month :) There's nothing like a frank with the works for a buck when you're stumbling home from the pub. My favorite pizzas are Two Boots and Lombardi's coal oven pizza both here in NYC.

I ordered a hot dog with "the works" in boston and they gave me ketchup and mustard. Ketchup on a hot dog. Yikes! Not only that but to consider ketchup and mustard "the works" I will never return to Boston.
