If memory serves, it took about a month for 9/11 jokes to appear in the mainstream. This attack had just over 1% of the fatalities of 9/11, so it should take only seven hours for jokes to be acceptable. We're close enough to that now, I think.

Apparently we have another 200 years till we can make jokes about WWII.
