He was a prick, yes. But mostly because he was the corrupt leader of a VERY oppressed people. The Palestinians are referred to by Israelis as "Araboushim", which is the equivalent of a white man calling a black man a nigger. Arafat needed to be a leader for his people. Instead, he helped them get shat on, despite the fact that the Palestinian cause is one of the most-supported causes worldwide.

With the Hamas leadership and Arafat out of the way and the Gaza disengagement plan going to schedule, hopefully now there can be some kind of peace. If only someone like Rabin was in power, instead of a fascist like Sharon.
