I'm actually a big fan of the national anthem of the USA. No, really. It's a well written song (and yes, I'm aware that it was originally a british song). If you think it's simple, have a look at the four part harmony of it. I've actually sung the whole song in four part harmony. It is.. beautiful. I think I actually still remember the bass part of the harmony.

If you've never heard the four-part harmony, get some choir kids together, four's all you need, and have 'em sing it to you. It's awesome, and quite fun to sing.
