I noticed something strange three weeks ago. I was at the Del Taco drive through, and I realized, there was a duck, running around on the little grass area that is part of said taco place. I made an attempt to save it, realizing how much traffic there was on the street near him. He didn't seem to like the idea of being saved, however, and just went about his business. I was unable to get, him, and assumed that he would eventually walk in to traffic and die, like most dumb animals. But no, not this duck. He is clever. I go back 2 weeks later, and I then spot him taking a nap on the same grass area. We asked the drive-thru lady about him, and she said that people mind him while driving through the parking lot area, and that people give him food and water on their breaks. To wrap it all up, the duck is still on that grass area. It hasn't left once. It's been there for atleast three weeks, going on four. The strange thing is, we dont have any real bodys of water around(I live in the desert.), so im wondering how he ended up here. I'll try and get pictures today or tommorow. I've had a baby duck cross my path before, in the middle of town. Not as weird considering our ponds are populated with them. I tried catching it but it was very random in the way it fled so I couldn't.

However, I have had a crab walk by where I was sitting once. I'm no where near an ocean and the closest lake is 9km away. I assumed it was someone's pet but it was still pretty random and funny.
