Okay, a little experiment in strip structure here.

I did a set of strips last year about "Stripcreator Network News." The idea was that the news anchors (Betty Butterworth and Jake Jemima) would cut to the videotape or remote location in the second panel, which was always something ridiculous. Then there'd be some throwaway line back in the studio for the final panel.
So what you end up with is this:
Panel1: Setup
Panel2: Big Punchline
Panel3: Little Punchline
So, your mission. Make a strip in that structure. Use the Stripcreator Network News framework if you like, or make up your own. You have a lot of room for experimentation here. The middle panel can be some other place ("Meanwhile..."), some other time, or some other medium.
Series up to 5 strips are okay. Political strips making fun of George "29% Approval Rating" Bush always welcome.
More examples here.
