I agree Mikey. FOX are evil, insidious, creitins. They would have sent Fam Guy to the scrap heap if it wasnt for the petitions and DVD sales. Now if only they'd bring Futurama back. One can only wish..

I wouldn't mind if the Cartoon Channel held onto Futurama as long as there were new episodes. Hell, I didn't even like Futurama when it first came out, but I gave it a chance later and it's awesome.

Family Guy is funny, but way overrated. I can think of several better cartoons off the top of my head that I'd rather watch. Plus, Family Guy steals jokes.

Now if only Showtime would see how moronic they are and bring Dead Like Me back. I just hope SciFi or Fox doesn't grab hold of it. They tend to taint their acquisitions. And everything with promise doesn't get a chance to live up to its potential. I'm still mad over Fox's being annoying about Tru Calling. At least Carnivale is back on.

Now I just have to wait for Penn and Teller to get their asses back and the Stargate hiatus to be over and I will never leave the TV again.

Hindsight is interesting. Family Guy was easily among the most underrated shows two years ago. I had a persistent boner for the months leading up to the DVD release, and honestly could not believe how well it sold when it came out (I, working at Best Buy at the time, had a good seat). Now I agree that it's overrated--or at least overhyped--but I still can't think of another cartoon I'd rather watch.

On the subject of Futurama, how can so many of us have the same opinion? I too thought it was shit at first, and I too have come to love it. How odd...

I think Fox is pretty stupid for dropping the show in the first place and then picking it back up with new episodes (first time it's ever been done). I mean, Fox trashed the program because of low viewings and the fact that it was too racy at some times, when Fox was the one who pretty much changed every episode's air date. I mean, I didn't see half those episodes because I didn't know when the hell they were going to be aired! And now that Fox sees that Family Guy has gotten so huge and there's a huge market with its merchandise and such that they've finally decided to air it again. I am pretty happy tho.

My prediction for the show: last two months at the most, then get cancelled and ruin any other show's chance of being re-aired due to dvd sales.

Why? Like has been said, it's way to overhyped. People are treating this as the second coming of Christ. As hard as they may try, it will never reach people's expectations.

It won't get cancelled quickly. Fox ordered something like 40 episodes and, seeing that each episode costs approximately 1 mill to make, they will not burn $40 million. It may not be the runaway success they expect it to be, but I think it will perform at least decently due to the unprecendented hype and the fact that reruns of the show on cable that have aired probably over 15 times still pull in enough ratings to scare Letterman and Leno.

Oh and on the topic of shows cancelled by short-sighted idiots who then regret their mistake, while "Angel" may not be appearing on your boob tube any time soon, there will be a comic series that will apparently pick up the story just after the events of the final episode. Whedon won't be writing it, but he will be "overseeing" the project.

And if he doesn't resign to do another year of Astonishing X-Men, I shall kidnap him and tickle his feet with feathers until he promises to give me my Kitty Pryde fix.

I hate "reality" TV with a passion, but that's one show I would love to see. And in keeping with the topic, Family Guy is a decent show.

Think classy, you'll be classy.

The jokes are lame, predictable, and sometimes stolen for a comedian's act. And the jokes where they cut away to something else are poorly executed. I wish people would stop treating the show like it the greatest thing in the world. But I still am going to watch the new episodes.

I gotta say Family Guy is my favourite TV show. As for Futurama, I always liked it, right from the first episode, although I've never seen the first 10 minutes of that episode, maybe it sucked. I've been waiting for ages for Family Guy to return, and I guess I'll have to keep on waiting until we get it here as well...
