one day i was sitting at work and wanted to make a comic about the receiptions at my work who i dislike. so i searched on yahoo for comic strips. of course there were a bunch of results, but I ended up liking stripcreator's format the best and here I am. What about you? here is my first comic:

first comic and don't know why I made it and dont care mostly im bored now and trying to stay busy so I dont have to go home and be more bored. So, basically, I am on this site because I am bored and bored of other sites I get onto all the damn time.

Learned about this site from GameNOW magazine. They had a little thing on it in the back. GameNOW used to be XpertGamer, which used to be EGM2... All of them were the sister mag of Electronic Gaming Monthly. GameNOW is now defunct, unfortunately.

Those magazines also sucked, don't forget to add that. They were all made for people to stupid to just read EGM and were filled with fluff stories and reviews featuring words like GROOVY and OUT OF SIGHT. They were awful magazines.

I will rate you hard, and unendingly.

Livejournal. Don't lie, you have one too. I kept hitting random and there was one that I landed on which contained a link to one of his comics on this site. I don't even remember which it was, but it was a pretty crappy comic. The fact that the author couldn't spell or form complete sentences didn't deter me from reading the forums and some other (much better) comics by other users. Thus, I found myself drifting to this site more and more and got my own account.

As I've said before, I was looking at a web page that showed random quotes a bot extracted from an irc channel devoted to another humor site I was on, and a quote from ladyj was actually a link to one of her comics here, and I followed it, and started fooling around and actually didn't first make a guy-nailing-his-own-head comic:

Some time after Al Gore created the internet, I was checking out links on Random Abstract and there was a link to stripcreator. I clicked the random button a few times, saw some funny comics and I was hooked.

I also did not make a Nail-in-Head comic.

Bunner introduced me to the site, and I think I posted at forums long before I braved making comics.

He had hoped this site would be something more than adolescent troll-brats wiping shit on the walls of SC.

"There's a comic engine and a cesspool where the lounge used to be. It's the internet's version of urban decay, and the can't-read-or-function-at-a-4th-grade-level crackheads have moved in."

Before he left here, he mourned the loss of original regs, mentioning DexX, Gabe, LadyJ, Wirthling, etc.

From what I can tell, there's not nearly as much troll activity here now.

I told bunner the other day that all the old regs are stopping by, so maybe he will too. Anyway, I love this site & I'm glad he turned me on to it.

In particular it was your autobiographical ones where you were telling your story in the narrative and quoting songs I love in the speech bubbles. There was something particularly moving about those.

Thanks again...it was pretty much how my life really went. I should update it, so much has happened since then.

This one was something that happened when bunner and I were dating. I was very naive, a good girl. (Really)
and we were sitting on the couch while my parents, aunts, uncles, grandfather were all in the kitchen playing cards. There was just a neck-high partition wall between the living room & kitchen, and bunner said something incredulous to me. I said "Oh, come now" and he answered that way. Everything went silent in the kitchen. We crept off the couch and peeked over the partition to find everyone out there glaring at us. We fell back onto the couch laughing like idiots. 'Twas fun, very fun :D

Not much to my story. Gabe and Tycho linked to SC.com from the Penny Arcade news page back when I was reading it religiously. Some guy they knew had just started up a comic-strip-making site - go have a look.

So I did.

I was at a forum for pro-wrestling and humor and such called the Confederate Mack (I think it no longer exists) and these two guys were trolling the boards and using comics from SC to antagonize the regs. Anyway, I looked at their comics (which were god awful) but thought the site looked fun and I signed up. The first person that I thought was cool and fun was attitude_chicka and I wrote to her and told her so and she said thanks. There was an "all these new folks keep coming here and screwing up the site" movement at the time so people weren't altogether friendly to me starting out, but Kaufman and Kajun were pretty nice to me, along with chicka, so i stayed.

This is my first comic.
