In "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" for the N64, you have to navigate little Link through a forest, sometimes you make a wrong turn and end up in strange little rooms. One of the rooms contained a hidden ledge that if you managed to climb onto, allowed you to speak to a little man on a log. He told you that he couldn't move because he was so scared of the spiders, so, if you killed all of the spiders in the forest, he would give you some potion I think. Anyway, whilst he's rambling on and on about his paralysing arachnaphobia, he mentions that he was out walking with his brother Avery but got lost.

Avery Corman is/was a reasonably famous author, probably the highlight of his career being a book about the divorce of a married couple, that book being "Kramer Vs Kramer"...

Winner of Round 2, Match 4: virsling

Round 2 ends with a bang! I reckon this is a generally funnier, more coherent serial than last time. Perhaps long multiple-author serials don't work so well? Why not pop on over to the story archive and judge for yourselves!

I am lazy, so expect the start of our new three-part story tomorrow or the next day. Here are the two semifinal matches:

The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that I've switched round the order again. This is because wirthling had already done a conclusion, so I thought it'd be better for two other folks to try their hands at it this time. I hope wirthling doesn't mind doing two rounds in succession like this: if it's any consolation, wirth, if you win, your opponent in the final will have had to do the same.
