..and we are almost ready to get going with the final of the inaugural StripCreator.com Battle of the Bands. Our two finalists are both great rock bands, and here they are, coming on stage now... The all-girl hard-rock punk-inspired country-tainted Attitude Chicks have been making a lot of noise, and even a bit of music, during this contest. On the opposite stage you will see Andy and the Douganites, who play a distinctive fusion of funk, folk, and drunken abuse. Both bands will be playing original songs tonight, composed under the following rules...
1) Your strip must begin with the narrative "[Sung to the tune of ...]" with the ellipse replaced by the title of a song. The rest of the strip must adhere fairly closely to the rhythm of the song you choose. The idea is that you should be able to sing the song using the strip's text as alternative lyrics.
2) Let's make the song a duet - at least one frame of the strip must feature a recognisably male character and a recognisably female character, and they have to be facing each other.
Okay, the bands are tuned up... the power is turned on... Rock and roll!
