It still shits me that these crappy strips and toons are all about getting caught and punished, but never about the consequences of breaking laws. Kids who speed or drive drunk get fined and lose their licences - they never kill themselves or hit pedestrians. Kids who drink underage get caught and fined - they never suffer alcohol poisoning, fuck up their schooling, get robbed while passed out, or date-raped.

Short-sighted and simplistic, like all conservatism.

oh, i'm not conservative, i just see liberals on one side spewing self-serving statements, conservatives on the other spewing self-serving statements, neither of them respecting the other's opinion, and then wondering why 90% of people identify themselves as a moderate rather than as one of these extremes

it's like watching 3 year olds fight for a toy. it prevents real discussion on serious issues since in order to have a meaningful discussion you have to be able to listen to what the other person is saying
