I don't know if this has been covered before (I'm hoping it hasn't because who likes being redundant).

Who was your favourite Batman?

And secondly, favourite villain?

It doesn't matter if its the TV series or the movies we're speaking of, I'm just curious.

Michael Keaton

and Jack Nicholson as the Joker

the first batman movie (burton) was pretty definitive, although the 60s tv series still makes me laugh.

Kevin Conoroy's voice as Batman in the cartoon. Cloony made a decent Bruce Wayne but lousy Batman, Kilmer made a passable Batman but lousy Wayne. Bale was great as both (captured the airheadedness that Bruce Wayne likes showing off...few do that properly.

And if you can't guess who my favorite Batman villain is, then...well...yeah.

Joker, Harley, and Ivy are my three favorites. I like them all too much to decide between them.

My favorite villain was from the cartoon series and was the guy covered in mud or whatever...

The Flash is my favorite superhero though.

I thought Burton's Batman was a pile of ass. Darkman was the movie I thought Burton could have made if he hadn't been obsessed with Burton. Michael Keaton as Batman? Hell, why not Buster Keaton?

Batman Begins was more to my liking. Scarecrow was groovy. The Batmobile kicked miles of ass. Gotham seemed more like a real city than Tim Burton's overstylized set pieces.

Does Christian Bale count? I think he is the most convincing Batman I've seen on screen, to date.

As for villains, Nicholson's Joker is beyond compare.

Gah, clayface. How could I even call myself a fan of the series? I just liked how Batman lacked any real super powers and he still kicked everyones ass.

Oh, I think that mountain of cash that he inherited could probably be construed as a super power. I'd take that over Aquaman's ability to talk to fish any day.

But yes, you're right: Batman is the everyman honest-to-goodness one-of-us hero, and that's a big part of his appeal, in my book.

Aquaman is king of Atlantis. I don't think he was straped for cash. The entire city is made of gold. When he lost his hand he got a damn gold hook. The man has BANK!

Christian Bale is the best Batman so far. Michael Keaton is the second best. Tim Burton's interpretation of the Batman legend was the finest one up to that time -- I was blown away by the fact that someone had finally made a seriously cool Batman film. BATMAN BEGINS is the best one now. But it built upon the success of the Burton Batman.

Ra's Al Ghul is the best Batman villian so far. Next comes Nicholson's Joker.

the best Batman was the one from Batman: The Animated Series and the best villian was Joker from the same series. Clayface, Scarecrow, and The Mad Hatter were rocking villians in that series too

as far as the movies, Keaton was the best Batman and Bale the second best. it even seemed like Bale based his Batman off of Keaton's, so hard to call his the best. the best villian in the movies was the Joker, second best was the Penguin

I am not too proud to admit that I have the entire animated series on DVD (the new set has been preordered for a while), animated series sheet set, AS lunchbox, AS shower curtain, AS playing cards, AS action figures, AS posters, AS stuffed Batman (it was a gift, I swear!), AS background images, AS dishes (cough), AS trading card set, AS comic books, and probably a few other things. My apartment looks like a 12 year old's home.

Batman is teh Gawd of Superheroes because he can (and would if he had to) take out each and every superhero on the planet because he's studied their weaknesses. Ra's al Ghul is the greatest villain because he stole said info from Batman and used it all at once. And Batman in turn told the surviving superheroes how to save themselves while he went and beat the shit out of Ra's. Check and Mate.

And I definitely have to say Keaton was the best Batman. He had the psychosis down pat. Conoroy had the only Batman voice that actually FIT the character. Although the Adam West voiced Batman from old cartoons is always forefront in my mind.

Superman and Btaman were the only worthwhile members anyway. Once Batman left (and he DID leave, he wasn't going to stick around long enough to let them kick him out) the Man of Steel had to do all the work; no offense to Supes, but super strength and flight don't equal up to the sheer brilliance of Batman.

I agree wholeheartedly.

The Justice League animated series Batman was an awesome character, particularly when he refused to do stupid things like go to jail and told Superman that he kept a piece of kryptonite in his belt.

However, Batman pales in comparison to Flash in that series, when Flash took out Luthor and Brainiac in the final episode I came, twice.

...Trot and Cap'n Bill were free from anxiety and care. Button-Bright never worried about anything. The Scarecrow, not being able to sleep, looked out of the window and tried to count the stars.

When my friends and I used to play Superfriends, I was either Flash or Superman. Flash could have taken Mohammed to Medina in, like, 10 seconds. My friend Adam always wanted to be Wonder Woman.

For me, Adam West = Batman. Even moreso now that West plays Mayor Adam West on Family Guy.

Adam West's "Batman" TV series is one of the most sublimely funny series in television history. The movie is great as well. I remember seeing it at the theater on a Saturday morning when it first premiered -- me and all the hundreds of other kids there didn't know it was a comedy. We just thought Batman was so fucking cool! It was many years later that I rewatched some of the episodes in reruns and realized, hey...this show is farking funny!

The DVD of the movie can be found in budget bins everywhere, so...partake of it.
