How about a top-rated list of the best strips with more than, say, fifty votes. You could call it 'classic comics' or something.

Just an idea.

I don't think any of my comics would qualify for it, so I'm not really sure if it's such a good idea.

I would stand behind this idea.

For the record, none of my comics would qualify either.

I'm glad we set that straight.

You know... on the record an all.

Of course. These things are important. The record now states that Not_Scyess said 'I'm glad we set that straight', although I'm about to add 'sarcastic git' into the margin in orange crayon.

Seriously though, is this a good/bad/pointless/useful idea, and is it easy or hard to implement?

maybe 30 votes would be more obtainable.

i like this idea. i think i like it at 50. looking at the top rated just now, there's 2 there over 100, a 63, 65, 76, 86, and a 71, so there's plenty of over 50's out there to fill that list. one idea might be that when it hits a 50 count, it gets retired over to the classics list, which would clear up more room for newer/less voted on comics under the regular toprated

If some of my comics qualify, then it's a good idea.  If not, then it's a total fuckin' dogshit idea.

I tenth or eleventh or whatever this idea.

Yay for good ideas!

Follow the link for an example of a bad idea and why we should encourage the opposite behavior.

I'd rather see a bottom-rated list of comics. Yeah.

I have five or six comics recently rated 10 (4 votes apiece) but they won't show up on the top list.  How come?  It's been, like, three or four days.

I know they'd just get downvoted into oblivion as soon as they appeared, but it would be nice to see them there for a few minutes anyway.

Two reasons--

1) It takes 5 votes to get on Top Rated

2) They're all from 2006, so they wouldn't show up on the recently popular, unless the votes came in recently.

3) And reason three of two is I up-voted one of them.  It should show up on Top Rated when the list refreshes.

Thanks for the response and the upvote!

The comics in question were all recently voted.  They only have 4 votes apiece, but don't comics with only 4 votes often show up on the recently-popular list?

I'm not sure the time-frame Brad factors in for recently popular, but my guess on those is that maybe three votes came in back in 2006, and one came in recently, so you just saw all 4 votes pop up on your top 10, but the other 3 happened so long ago that they don't count as recently popular.  Does that make sense?

I don't know.  I'm not very good at being able to tell whether things make sense or not.
