I was thinking about the how we pick the contestents and so forth. I think anyone who serves as a judge in a previous cup gets first dibs on being in the next one. Next priority would be those who lost first round, then those who lost the second round, etc. It should give a greater opportunity to let a larger amount of people to participate more often.

Round 1: Spankling vs DH-01

This first round will see Spankling defends his 0-2 losing streak against Comic Cup newcomer DH-01 in what promises to be an interesting match. You only have two rules.

1) Someone in the comic must sacrifice or lose a left nut for some reason.

2) Fill in the leftmost panel, and press the "Clone Panel" button. Make sure the comic makes a modicum of sense, and make sure above all that it's funny.

You both have 48 hours to post your entries. After the entries are posted, the judges have another 48 hours to vote. (Since some of you judges may have schedules that only allow you to check the board on weekdays, I'm giving you 48 hours this round. Expect future rounds to adhere to a 24 hour voting time limit.)

Also, that rule about the nut... that doesn't have to be in the present tense. It can be in the past as well. Just as long as a nut was lost somewhere along the line and that your comic makes note of the fact in some way.

For shame, Drexle, the left nut rule was from our final round in the 2nd comic cup, come up with a new one. It is only the first round after all, you can't be out of ideas yet. ;-)

I'm gonna have to give my vote to spankling. I thought his worked better with the clone panel button.
I'm sure that was a hard one for both of them cause that clone panel rule must have been a bitch to work with.

My vote is for DH-01. It was the only one that made me laugh. In Spankling's favor, his worked better with the Clone Panel requirement, and I also appreciated that it was more tasteful. When I did a practice strip by these rules, I also used Clango, and the nut he lost was of the nut and bolt variety. I won't post it here, but you can view it if you follow the link to my comics.
