'tis a sad day indeed, but I'm not entirely sure it's bad. All he had left was suffering and frankly, I don't think any man deserves to keep suffering, especially someone as awesome as Richard Pryor. So, while it's sad that he's gone, he was lost long before he died.

Hopefully there's an afterlife. He deserves a good place in one.

I was just remarking to a friend the other day about how he did a great job in See no evil, Hear no evil (not a great movie, but it had it's moments). He was just an amazing dude and funny as hell. Thanks for the laughs, Mr Pryor.

Let's not forget if it hadn't been for his half of the writing in Blazing Saddles, that movie would have just been a Spaceballs style schtick-fest. As funny as the schtick is in that movie, it's the racial stuff that sets it apart and makes it a truly unique comedy showing the absurdity of prejudice.

Don't forget Mudbone. I loved me some Mudbone.

Years ago, when my parents weren't home, I'd sneak Pryor's Live on the Sunset Strip cassette into the player and laugh my little ass off.
